First Frost Scarf
The colors in this yarn make me think of a light dusting of snow over fallen leaves
Yarn: I bought this yarn in New Zealand in 2005. I have since lost the ball-band so I don’t really know much about it. It is handpainted 100% New Zealand Merino and it seems to be about a dk weight.
Pattern: I bought this yarn with no particular project in mind and it was some of the oldest yarn in my stash. I had around 400-500 yards of it (as per my recollection) and I finally realized that what I needed to do was K.I.S.S. (keep it simple stupid) because what I love about this yarn are the colors. I wouldn’t want any fancy stitch pattern to distract from them so I went with plain ole garter stitch on the bias and it turned out that I had the perfect amount for a generous scarf. This was a relaxing project and I’m really glad to have finally made something with it so I can wear and enjoy it!
There may be more oversized scarves in my future.
