Emergency Sweater Vest
Yesterday I finally got out and took some pictures of my sweater vest before it got too dark!
Despite my blase expression I am actually quite pleased
Pattern: Leftovers by Alison Hansel from Knitty
Yarn: Cascade 220 about 2.5 skeins
Modifications: Lots! First of all I didn’t do any stripes. Also I changed the ribbing, in the pattern you hold two strands of yarn together and do 3×3 ribbing but I just used one strand of yarn and did 2×2 ribbing. I guess I am contrary like that. I also did my own waist shaping although there is some in the pattern.
I am yelling at my dogs in this picture
It turns out I really did need a sweater vest. I have worn this tons since I finished it! I love how warm it is without being constricting.
I might even make another one if I could decide on a color and if I find a couple more collared shirts to wear them with. I am definitely on the lookout.

I have been thinking about making a sweater vest lately and this makes me want to even more. It looks great. I also have to say you look like quite the hipster in that first photo – like an American Apparel add or something.
Cute vest. It looks warm and comfortable. I’ve been wanting to knit one for myself though I’m not sure a vest really suits me. -Also, it’s nice seeing you use your Koolhaas.
Sorry, I had to say one more thing after seeing the little creature I got with the last comment. He’s so cute and totally fits me, being a tiny bit grumpy! :-p
it came out so simple and chic! you make me want to make one now
You look so studious in your glasses and vest
The vest – it is great!! I’ve been thinking that I would wear one as I’ve been layering like crazy (ha! here in unseasonably cold NC! which is probably nothing compared to Alaska right now!) Great color too – it’s a classic!
Preppy chic! Looks really nice on you, and warm too. I wish I was more of a vest person…
sweater vests are so practical, but i don’t know that i could ever pull one off! it looks great on you, though.
Vest and Koolhaas visit the beach. They look great. It does look like a fashion shoot, as Jake said.
I really like it! I’ve been thinking about whether I’d actually wear a vest or not…yours looks great on you, but I just don’t know if I’m a vest person.
Would you make one for me? 0_o I’d totally buy one from you! I need one in a light yellow >_<
Cute! Looks like it fits perfectly! Sweater vests are awesome. I was iffy about them till I made one, and now I wear it all the time, too!
The vest looks great! I like the shirt you’re wearing with it too.
