Hi Alli,
Looks like your trip went well (saw you just before you left in the computer lab). I am almost done with my project but am stuck with a YO instruction...so will try to get to Skeins for help. That leaves me knitting my second sock again. It is snowing out!!!!

Alli...I never knew one could take the ferry from Bellingham to Juneau. OMG. I've lived in the Seattle-area all of my life. My son lives in Bellingham. Ohhhh, I'm so looking into that. This would be fabulous for me to see Alaska!

Thank you for sharing the trip!

Wow, I didn't know you could take the ferry to Seattle from Alaska (am I reading that right?) That's definitely something to put on my life to-do list. I have no advice for the sweater, as someone who only knits accessories :)

I always enjoy Seattle but don't get there near enough as I'd like. Nice to hear that you had a good trip. :-)

Cool ferry ride. The longest one I've been on is from Block Island to Narragansett, RI and it takes about an hour and a half! Thermal is lovely but, yet, tedious as hell...

Isn't thermal so long and boring? I have to do the sleeve caps on both sleeves and I am so unmotivated.

That sounds like a good fix for the sweater. Enjoy the weather! It's going to be 90 degrees in San Diego today - ugh!

Go with your first idea. I really think it will work. Never underestimate the transformative powers of blocking; you can spread it out to make it exactly the way you want it to fit, and the shaping (or lack thereof) will help. And now to get back to my own homework!

I think your first idea for snow white (about treating every other decrease row as a work even row) sounds perfect... but when I knit this pattern I had questions about modifying it (for longer length) and Ysolda was really great about helping me figure out what would look best in the pattern. You should send her a message on Ravelry (or that old communication relic, email)!
