Koolhaas for Pat

Dear Pat,

I finished knitting your hat:

As you can see it does not fit me at all. This is good for 2 reasons.

#1. Since it is so obviously too big for me I feel there is a good chance that it will fit your much larger head*

#2. I will not try to steal it. This hat really caught me by surprise. It’s not my color at all but when I went to take it off I found that… I didn’t want to… Ever. I hope this means that you will like it too. It is very soft.

mmm…bunnies…

Pattern: Koolhaas by Jared Flood. This is a great pattern. Although I was a bit confused by the amount of negative ease it calls for and I am a bit skeptical that the larger size will fit my friend Pat. I was also a little afraid when I saw all those cables but they really aren’t that bad! Once I got through the first or second cable repeat I was hardly noticing them.

Yarn: Aslan Trends Invernal. This is a yarn that I think is new(?) because I haven’t really seen it before and there is not a lot of it on Ravelry. It is a blend of angora, merino and nylon (50%/25%/25%) and I absolutely love it. I am using it for my project spectrum scarf and found it to be delightful in an outrageously soft and fuzzy way. I don’t normally go in for the fuzzy yarns but I really want a sweater out of this.

*I added a life-line after the last pattern repeat so hopefully if it is too small I will be able to fix it without ripping out the whole thing. Fingers crossed!

ETA: It fits!!!

Your (or Pat’s, rather!) Koolhaas looks great! The yarn sounds scrumptious…I’ve never heard of it (or seen it anywhere) before, but now I really want to find some.

That looks great! I just cast on for it last night as a surprise V-day gift for my boyfriend. That yarn looks gorgeous, I love that color!
