Happy New Year!
Sorry for the unexplained/unexpected absence. I had big plans for doing loads of exciting knitting over my winter break but instead I went to Mexico and hardly knit a stitch!
Here is a project I finished before I left:
Pattern: Herringbone Mittens with Poms (ravelry link) by Elli Stubenrauch made for my boyfriend Lou.
Yarn: Stash Yarn! Hooray! I used Galway Worsted from my stash. The brown was actually leftover from Lou’s Whale Hat so now he has a matching set.
Thoughts: The pattern is great and very well written. However, the colors I used weren’t really contrast-y enough for this pattern so the herringbone came out pretty subtle. Lou really likes them though and he’s already worn them a lot since it’s been pretty cold. A grand success!
As for the blog I have been thinking of how busy I am with school this semester and I think I will be taking a break from regular once-a-week posting in favor of more of an FO Parade as I finish things.
Thanks for reading!

They look really nice! I might have to knit up a pair to use up some Cascade in my stash.
They look great - the subtley is great for men. Good luck in school! And keep up that sleeve knitting
Awesome mittens. Good luck on the upcoming school year!
Trraaaaaaaaain Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mexico, how exciting! I’d love to hear more about your trip and/or see some pictures.
Those mittens look so cozy. I think the subtlety works well with those colors.
Have a great semester!
