Slowly but Surely

Fall classes sure seem to cut into my knitting time.

Nonetheless I am making steady progress on my curret WIPs

Bianca Jacket:

I finished all the pieces (back, 2 fronts, 2 sleeves) and yesterday I joined them to knit the yoke in the round.

I guess I have enjoyed knitting this because I have managed to maintain enough enthusiasm not to cast on any other sweaters.

However, I am a bit trepidatious about how the whole thing is going to come out/whether it will look good on me or not. I don’t really have any sweaters in similar shapes and this is not green a color that I normally wear.

On the other hand the yarn was one of my oldest stashed yarns. It sat for months in a half-finished version of Cupcake (from the Stitch ‘n Bitch Happy Hooker book) until I admitted that it was the wrong yarn, in the wrong pattern and I don’t like to crochet and ripped it out and started knitting this instead. Even if this sweater doesn’t come out perfect at least I didn’t have to crochet it.

Not-So-Modern Quilt Wrap:

I changed out the light blue for the dark green and re-jiggered the order of the colors. I think this version is much better. This is a really fun knit and I’m using it as my Positive Reinforcement Project. Since I can’t knit on it while I’m reading/studying I only allow myself to work on it after I finish my school-work for the evening. Each (large) block represents one day of classes. I should have this finished right around the end of this semester.

For what it’s worth, I think the color will look great on you. ^__^ It seems to have a really nice texture. What yarn is it?

I really like the look of the reworked quilt wrap. I can’t wait to see it in all its finished the semester glory.

I think that shade of blue will look very nice on you.

I agree – the blue will look beautiful on you! I think you made the right decision with respect to the colors in the Modern Quilt Wrap — it’s really looking lovely!

I am impressed that you knit the squares together as you go. I always like to piss myself off with the finishing instead. You are a SMART COOKIE.
