My Last Summer FO
Leaf Tee-Shirt
Pattern: Leaf Tee-Shirt by Melissa of Knitting School Dropout
Yarn: Silky Wool on size 5 needles. I really like this yarn but I probably should have gone down a needle size because I did not get very good stitch definition (more negative ease might have helped too).
Modifications: You can’t tell in this picture but I added some waist shaping to this and I’m really glad I did. Also the lace might have looked better if I had knit this to be a tighter fit (as specified in the pattern).
Overall: I count this as a success. I did finish it in time to wear the last day of summer and it was perfect.
I also imagined this piece as primarily for layering. I wanted something that would look nice under a jacket but still be okay by itself. Our university is strange in that some classrooms are unbearably hot and stuffy while others are frigid. I have already worn it to school quite a lot:
It’s not my favorite sweater that I have made but I think it may become my most worn because it is surprisingly comfy and versatile.

It looks really nice! And I like it under the jacket, too.
I think I’ve given up on summer stuff and am just moving on to fall sweaters.
eeeee! you look so cute in it!
It looks great on you! Good job!
You look so cute in that!! I love the color.
Cute! And yay for layering–it looks great both ways.
It looks great! I love the color, and it sounds like it’s the perfect sort of layering piece for you!
Still very behind in my blog reader
But that turned out beautiful and the color is very flattering. Nice job!
