Rogue

Pattern:  Rogue Hooded Pullover by Girl From Auntie

Yarn: Cascade 220 (I don’t know what I did with the ball band) 6 and a very small bit of a 7th skeins.

Time-to-knit:  I started this in August on a whim.  I picked up this green yarn because it was such a great color for a sweater and when I got home I thought it would be good for Rogue so I went for it.  The hood took me the longest to knit, I really got bogged down there.  After I finally finished the hood the whole thing sat around for about 2 months before I knit the sleeves, but I finally did and now it’s done … 7 months later.

Mods: Not really a mod but I left off the pocket and I did one extra cable twist on the body.  I was very nervous about this because I didn’t try it on until I was up to the hood on the body and then I found that it looked a bit too long, I figured, too late to change it, it’ll work itself out.  Imagine my chagrin when I ran out of yarn with 8 rows to go on the 2nd sleeve!  If only I had knit the body according to the pattern!  But then I remembered, Cascade 220 is cheap, that’s one of the things I like about it.  So I decided I didn’t mind.  I know I’ll be able to use that extra ball for something.   Then I washed, blocked and seamed my sweater.  Lo and behold it is the perfect length!  Hooray for luck!

Comments:  Did I mention that I am completely pleased with this sweater?  The pattern is beyond excellent.  I have never ordered a pattern online like this before but this one was totally worth it.  I definately squealed with excitement over the pages and pages of gigantic charts and well-written instructions.    So far the Cascade 220 has been good to me.  No problems ripping, good stitch definition and the best part is it’s not itchy!  Well the best part is probably 220 yards of merino wool for $7.50 but the next best part is it’s not itchy.

My sweater is warm and cozy.rogue5.jpg

Hooray!

Looks fabulous! Now I’m extra-inspired to put the zipper in my Rogue and just be done with it already!

It looks great! That green color is excellent. The hood was an issue in my Rogue as well. It’s written a little bit weirdly, especially when you get close to the top.
