Minimalist Mock-Turtle Neck

Pattern: Magknits Minimalist Funnel Neck by Sarah Sutherland

Yarn: Hey, I actually used the recommended yarn Rowan Scottish Tweed in a nice dark blue color. I really liked this yarn. It is not especially soft but it’s not at all itchy. I can wear this sweater with just a cami under it without fear of the itchies. It’s also a nice yarn because of all the nice colors in it.

You can see it better in this detail shot:

Modifications: Practically none! The only thing I did was make the neck a little shorter, more of a mock-turtle than a funnel.  I also added long sleeves because I was cold.

Comments: I love this design. I like it’s easy stylin’. I have already been wearing it a lot. As far as the pattern goes, the yoke part is a little convoluted and I just really had to go through line by line to get it. Once I got past the yoke though everything just went right along. This was my reading project for last semester. I did all that plain 1×1 ribbing while I did my reading for my english classes.

It’s nice to have something to show for getting all my homework done!minimalist1.jpg
